FAQ's
What size of fountain do I need for my event?
You can use any size of fountain you want. If you want the “wow” effect and have over 200 guests I then recommend using the 34” three tier fountain as this gives a fabulous presentation. The 27” three tier “elegant” fountain is great for 100 to 200 guests. If chocolate is added through out the evening either one works fine for any amount of people. For small events of 25-100 people I recommend the 19” two tier fountain. Another idea is if you want more then one type of chocolate or chocolate and caramel you may want to choose two 19” fountains. What types of chocolate do you have?
We offer dark, milk or white premium Belgian Callebaut chocolate. If you prefer specialty chocolate such as sugar free for diabetics or organic please let us know as we can provide this as well. Can we add color to the chocolate?
Yes, blue, green, yellow, pink, red and violet can be added to the white chocolate to give it a fun and festive look. Perfect for holidays and themed events.Do you offer Carmel?
Yes, although it is more expensive then chocolate it tastes great with all fruit and is a lot of fun.Is the chocolate gluten free?
The dark Callebaut chocolate is gluten free.Do you reuse the chocolate?
Absolutely not! We start fresh with every event. If we are at the event monitoring the fountain and no one has tainted the chocolate, the bride can then request to keep the remainder of the chocolate as she has already paid for it. (You do need to bring a container to put it in at the end of the night.)Do you add any oil to the chocolate to make it flow better?
No. All fountain chocolate does need some fluid to help it flow smoothly over the tiers. This is a misconception that oil is the only fluid that can be added. Some people may use oil as this is cheaper but because we use a premium chocolate with high cocoa butter content in it already we only need to add a small amount of cocoa butter to help it flow better. This keeps the chocolate natural and does not change the taste or smell.Do we need to set the fountain up?
No. Almost all our packages include set up, take down and clean up. We want to insure that you have fun on you’re special day with no worries so we do all the work. We do require access to the venue at least one hour prior to the event to set up.What if I want to set up the fountain myself?
We do offer the 19” for those that want to save money. It can be picked up the Thursday before your function and must be returned by the following Tuesday morning for us to clean for the next weekend. We do include instructions for set up. You do not clean it. We provide a crate and a large bag for you to put the dirty fountain in. A credit card # is required for a damage deposit.Do you need a Deposit?
To insure that a fountain is booked for your special day, we do need a deposit. Can the chocolate fountain be used outdoors?
Yes it can but keep in mind that little critters and flying bugs love chocolate as much as people. Also as we cannot control nature’s elements outside, wind can blow the flowing chocolate over areas or people that wish not to be covered. The choice is yours but we do not recommend it on a warm or hot day or evening as this attracts the most little critters.Do you supply the dipping items?
Yes, we can provide the dipping items but you must check with your caterer or venue first. Some venues will not allow outside food to be used. If you are trying to keep the cost down another option would be to provide the dipping items yourselves. We can provide the plates to present them on. If this is what you prefer, please let us know. What dipping items do you suggest?
Your imagination is the limit on what you can dip. The only items we do not recommend are items that are crumbly such as some cakes and cookies as these can clog up the fountain and stop the flow. If you want these at your event, you may request a small scoop to scoop the chocolate onto your plate. Keep in mind that you may then require more chocolate. We find that the most popular items are strawberries, pineapple, rice crispy squares, biscotti, pralines, pretzels, chocolate chip cookies, Oreo cookies and marshmallows. Really almost anything goes with chocolate and caramel so have fun with it. I’ve even heard of using thick potato chips all though I have not tried it myself. How long can I have the fountain for?
You have the option of having the fountain for the evening up until 11 pm or we offer a package with an attendant present for up to two and a half hours for those who want to insure that the chocolate does not run out. As well, small children are helped with dipping items into the fountain. What do I need to provide?
All we ask is that we have a 110 volt 3 prong outlet within 10 feet of the set up location. We also ask that you arrange with your venue to have plates and napkins either on the table or easily accessible.
